POND GARDEN
An unusual opportunity arose when designing this garden when the client required the retention of the two small fish ponds situated in the centre of the proposed seating areas. In addition to these ponds a space of a timber gazebo and large log cabin had to be included.
The design is built up of a number of interlocking circles, each of which have a purpose. Moving from left to right there is a dining area with bbq stand, then a space for sun loungers or an extension of the dining space. The circles then become paths running around the perimeter of the existing pond to the log cabin. This then continues up the garden to the house.Â
The paths are finished in a golden bound resin with a brick edging. The seating areas also contain a brick detail ring within the resin.
The planting consist of a Photinia hedge along the back fence with Photinia standards to screen part of the neighbours garden, a mixture of ferns, hostas and rhododendrons which prefer the shaded areas of the garden.
