FORMAL GREENHOUSE GARDEN
The main feature of this design was the construction of the Alitex Greenhouse. It was built into the bank at the rear of this garden to reduce its visual impact from the pool terrace and to stop it contesting with the conservatory close by. The slabs are reclaimed York, some of which are from the existing terrace removed to make way for the greenhouse. Opposite the front door there is a pink granite sett detail circle on to which a stone ball has been placed. Victorian pavers have been set on end as an edging for the planting beds.
There is an alfresco eating area with a built in copper finished pizza oven at the far end.Â
Original designed as a herb parterre, the planting design changed over its construction to become more of a formal paved garden with Amelanchier Lamarckii multi stem specimens in each bed underplanted with low clumping Hydrangea and surrounded with Buxus hedging. Each of these beds are irrigated and have up lights.
